3 Tips for successful AAC use!

AAC use can be very overwhelming initially. I always tell my families, give yourself GRACE. To start, here's 3 things to consider.

  1. Keep the device accessible - this means the child has access to it, within arms reach, AT ALL TIMES. No excuses!
  2. Make sure it's charged - it should be charged every night while the child is sleeping, just like cell phones.
  3. Have a low-tech system handy - take screenshots of each page and put them together in a binder for emergencies.

Keeping the device with you everywhere we go allows for use to happen much more naturally!
